and more berries to pick at the Rutland Farms Strawberry Patch! We had a large time hunting strawberries and eating fresh strawberry ice cream.
With Flat Stanley's help, and a little help from Mary Mauldin's sister Caelan and her friends Kate Marie and Casey, we managed to pick a whole bucket full of berries! Just in time to dip in chocolate for the Easter Bunny! I really enjoy going to Rutland Farms with my family to pick strawberries, but my favorite part is the ice cream. My mom is very excited about all the fresh produce that we will get to enjoy this summer. Tifton is home to many farmers and we get to eat fresh fruit and vegetables from March through October. My favorite things are peaches and butter beans. My daddy loves creamed corn, but it sure takes a lot of effort to pick, shuck, silk, and cream that corn. I usually don't last long when it comes to creaming corn...sometimes I might get an ear with a worm and I am done for the day. Too bad Flat Stanley won't be here in June...that is prime vegetable season!
